The summer heat has already given us a taste of it. On days when the temperature exceeds 25℃, we look for different ways to cool down. Swimming in the pool, cold showers, air conditioning, but there is probably nothing more enjoyable than delicious ice cream, especially the ones created by ourselves at home.

To prepare them we can use delicious, but also, above all, healthy ingredients. Here are some proven recipes for healthier alternatives to ice cream from the store!

How to prepare natural ice cream at home?

Since childhood, we can’t imagine summer without the taste of ice cream. Everyone likes something different, some of us love creamy ice cream from the machine, others refreshing sorbets. However, not everyone realizes that this delicious dessert can be prepared by themselves at home. What’s more, it’s a great opportunity to use fruits, which are really abundant at this time of year. Remember, however, that when choosing ingredients for making your own ice cream, it is worth betting on natural and healthy versions.

Honey raspberry

Raspberry ice cream is one of the most popular flavors. They are not only delicious, but also extremely refreshing, especially if you add a secret ingredient in the form of a few mint leaves. To prepare them you will need:

  • about half a kilogram of raspberries, washed and dried;
  • 5 tablespoons of xylitol;
  • 2 tablespoons of honey;
  • 150 ml of cream – 30% cream;
  • a few mint leaves.

The creation process itself is really simple, as you just need to blend all the ingredients thoroughly and put them into special ice cream containers on a stick or one larger one. Chill a minimum of 5 hours, and then enjoy a healthy raspberry dessert for hot moments.

Lemon refreshment

The sour taste of lemon usually motivates us to take action. This will also be the case with a delicious lemon sorbet, which will also turn out to be a healthy isotonic. For its preparation you need:

  • 4 peeled and previously frozen lemons;
  • 300 ml of coconut water previously frozen in the form of cubes;
  • 5 tablespoons of xylitol;
  • a few sprigs of mint.

Put all ingredients into a blender, blend thoroughly and you’re done! Put the sorbet into small bowls. Eat sauté or with the addition of fresh raspberries.

Forbidden fruit

It is said that Eve tempted Adam in the Garden of Eden with a delicious apple. We today want to persuade you to create a delicious apple-flavored ice cream, for which you will need:

  • about a kilogram of apples, such as papier-mâché;
  • a teaspoon of cinnamon;
  • juice squeezed from a lemon;
  • 3 egg yolks;
  • 100 g of sugar – you can replace it with xylitol or erythritol;
  • 400 ml of 30% cream.

Wash the apples, peel and remove the seed nests. Put the cut pieces in a saucepan, add 50 g of sugar, cinnamon and a little water. Cook for about 20 minutes over low heat until cooked. Then set aside, and when cooled, blitz to a smooth paste.

Put the egg yolks into a metal bowl, add 25 g of sugar to them and whisk over a pot of boiling water (steaming) until the mixture triples. Later, cool it down. Whip the cooled cream to a stiff paste, pour in the rest of the sugar. Now add to it the cooled egg yolks, mix, and then pour over the apple mousse. Finally, add lemon juice and mix the whole thing. Put the mixture prepared this way into a large container and refrigerate for about 5 hours. If you want a really smooth ice cream, every 2 hours or so, take the mixture out of the freezer and blitz again (a hand blender will work best for this). This procedure will make the ice cream soft, fluffy and tender.
