Proper eating habits are essential to maintaining a healthy weight, well-being and good health. See what habits prevent you from doing so.

It is estimated that more than half of Poles have excessive kilograms in more or less, and about 5 percent are underweight. Both phenomena are equally dangerous. Weight disorders and deviations from the norm affect not only attractiveness and self-acceptance, but most of all health. Obesity causes many diseases. The most common include: diabetes, atherosclerosis, hypertension, high cholesterol, heart disease, arthritis or hypothyroidism. The opposite condition, underweight, leads to weakness, deterioration of skin, hair and nails, and lowered immunity. Persistently low body weight can develop into malnutrition, which is life-threatening. It is worth taking care of yourself and avoiding all these undesirable effects. What is the most important thing to beware of?

Dietary mistakes

Irregular meals

It is important to eat small portions several times a day. Then your body will not have time to feel hungry, and you will not have time to reach for snacks between meals. Eat every 3-4 hours. It has been established that these are the healthiest breaks

Unhealthy snacks

Eating chips and chocolate is more often due to emotional needs than hunger. Often the brain wants to comfort or reward itself with such snacks. It is difficult to eliminate them completely, but try to reduce the frequency and quantity of their consumption, and try to replace them with dried fruit or nuts.

Supplements instead of diet

Advertisements for supplements trick consumers with instant results. Instead of providing your body with vitamins in artificial form, change your diet to a better balanced one. It will provide you with all the necessary nutrients.

Not enough fruit and vegetables in the menu

Nutritionists recommend that fruit and vegetables – both raw and cooked – should make up about 60 per cent of your daily food intake to ensure the acid-base balance and proper functioning of the body. Raw vegetables contain the most vitamins and nutrients

Not getting enough daily water

Fluid deficiency causes most organs to start functioning less well. The first symptom that should give you food for thought is a headache. Very bothersome and interfering with your productive day. To properly hydrate your tissues, you need to drink about 1.5-2 liters a day.

Eating too fast

Don’t eat in a hurry. Plan for a quiet half hour when you are not thinking about work, responsibilities or problems. Eating quickly and not chewing thoroughly can cause digestive problems.

What should a healthy diet look like?

Avoid all kinds of diets. For example, popular high-protein diets can cause: acidification of the body, constipation, risk of osteoporosis, likelihood of developing kidney stones, impaired kidney and liver function, ischemic heart disease, atherosclerosis. It’s not worth that much risk. Similarly, other diets. Monodiets, which consist in eating a certain group of foods, lead to deficiencies of important nutrients, and the body treats them as starvation. Cross the word “diet” out of your vocabulary. What you introduce should be new eating habits that will accompany you throughout your life. Vegetables and fruits should be the most important for you in your new way of life. Then there are cereals, dairy products and, at the end of the pyramid, meat, fish and fats. Arrange your daily menu according to this food pyramid. The body should also be prepared for new nutrition. Everything should be introduced step by step. In addition to a proper diet, physical exercise is also important. Do not forget to plan them 3 times a week for about half an hour.
